Obviously, you have people standing up for you making this, and you have those who say you are ripping off Mr. Firth. I'll throw in my two cents like everyone else:

First, I don't make flash movies, just enjoy them, so I try to stay objective and I always keep in mind that the fact that someone can make a flash at all is more than what I can do.

That being said, it was a very smooth, well made movie.

However, Firth's influence is plastered all over this movie, and I think the most blatant example is as a viewer, when you see that very first scene. Before I read any reviews or descriptions, I watched the movie and was instantly reminded of Firth's style when I saw that guy in front of the store - a little bit art-wise, but more just by the overall feeling of that scene and the tone it set. I will say this - you do go into deeper detail than he does art wise, but it's hard to differentiate the originality between things like dialogue and storyline.

It's hard to watch this movie without being reminded of Mr. Firth, but in staying objective, we have to remember that Firth had no hand in producing this flick, so in the spirit of rating it for what it is, I give you an 8. My personal opinion, however, is that you aren't bringing anything new to the table that hasn't already been done on some level--whether it is a genre identified with just Mr. Firth or a hundred others like him.

Just the same, I'd love to hear what Dave has to say about this movie...

Newgrounds has more fucking idiots than any other website on this planet. Leave it to a guy like Pshcy to treat this movie like it was supposed to be some film festival submission. Some of you people need to lighten up and enjoy a movie for what it is. I think it's hilarious, I always think when you know what the punchline is going to be, but you still laugh is a mark of a great flick. It was not poorly executed, if anything, you over-acheived in terms of execution. Good laugh.

I'm not going to bash Bush or Kerry, just other people who feel they need to. It's so easy to be critical, and Torch, you talk as though you can do a better job, yet your grammar and spelling is worse than Bush's. Shut up. Just shut up. I'm sure if Kerry is elected, he'll make some unpopular decisions as well. No one is perfect. Educate yourself, and be positive, rather than negative.
